Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John McTavish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tony Wilson! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McTavish lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. McTavish's corner calls for a 1-2. McTavish obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. McTavish definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Good exchange - McTavish coming out on top. McTavish goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. McTavish lands a body shot.
McTavish misses with an uppercut. Wilson saw that one coming. Wilson uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from McTavish. Wilson is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Nice body punch from McTavish. McTavish shoots for a double leg takedown but Wilson sprawls well. He's pushed McTavish's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wilson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. McTavish lands with an uppercut that bounces Wilson off the cage and back into range. Sloppy strikes from McTavish. Those never looked like landing. Wilson with the counter takedown but McTavish avoids it easily. John McTavish seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McTavish will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

McTavish ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

and Wilson counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McTavish taking some punishment here, with Wilson in his half guard. Wilson not landing any meaningful shots this time. Wilson looks to score some points with some ground and pound. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wilson lands strikes from half guard. Wilson maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! McTavish could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Wilson has cracked it and McTavish is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Wilson!
