Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dennis Dillon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alax Lim! The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lim looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Lim wants to control from the top but Dillon keeps moving. Dillon is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Dillon wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dillon is figuring out what he wants to do next. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dillon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Dillon thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Lim is looking to improve his position.
Dillon throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Dillon missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Dillon content to control rather than advance. Lim has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dillon is working away from the top position though. Dillon controlling the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Dillon seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lim for as long as he can get away with. Lim pushes Dillon off looking to stand but Dillon dives back in and keeps control.
Dillon works his way into side control. Lim seems a little lost for a moment, as Dillon dominates the positioning. Dillon gets to mount! Lim was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lim tries to hold on but Dillon pushes him away. Lim tries to improve his position but Dillon has taken his back! Dillon has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Lim tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Dillon pushes Lim away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Dennis Dillon!
