Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Hunter Sobczak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Sandusky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gary Sandusky is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hunter Sobczak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gary Sandusky! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sobczak feints a jab promting Sandusky to slip. Sobczak then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Sandusky slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Sandusky looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Sobczak connects with a right hand. Sandusky shakes it off. Sobczak throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Sobczak misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Sobczak fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sandusky, pushing him back against the cage. Sobczak manages to break the clinch.
Sandusky keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sobczak throws a quick inside leg kick. Sandusky looking to score a takedown here. Sobczak is defending well but Sandusky drives through and ends up in Sobczak's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Sobczak wants to stand up but Sandusky is controlling him. Sandusky tries to free his leg and advance position but Sobczak is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sandusky wants to control from the top but Sobczak keeps moving. Sobczak knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sandusky on the ground. Sobczak has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Sandusky is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position. Sobczak escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

and Sandusky connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Sobczak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sandusky as he avoids it easily. Sobczak misses with a wild combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Sobczak rushes Sandusky and presses him up against the cage. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Sandusky has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Sobczak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sloppy strikes from Sobczak. Those never looked like landing. Sandusky changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Sobczak throws a right hand that Sandusky ducks under and follows up with a left that Sandusky also avoids with ease. It seemed like Sandusky was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Sobczak pushes Sandusky up against the cage in a clinch. Sobczak pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Sobczak rushes Sandusky and presses him up against the cage. Sandusky jumps guard but Sobczak turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Sobczak breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Sobczak lands with a kick to the temple. Sandusky shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Sandusky takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sandusky doesn't manage to clinch there - Sobczak circles away.
Sobczak scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Sloppy strikes from Sobczak. Those never looked like landing. Sandusky feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Sandusky loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Sobczak keeping moving, preventing Sandusky from controlling successfully. Sandusky might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Sobczak haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Sobczak looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sobczak is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sandusky is aware though and is defending well. Sandusky gets to his feet. Sobczak looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Sobczak lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sandusky circles away quickly and effectively. Sobczak looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sobczak doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sandusky makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hunter Sobczak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sobczak misses with a body kick. The fight stays on the outside here - Sandusky looks like he's thinking about clinching though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hunter Sobczak dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Sandusky tries to counter with a clinch but Sobczak shakes him off and moves away. The fight stays on the outside here - Sandusky looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Sandusky is looking to clinch. Sobczak with a poor takedown and Sandusky counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Sandusky wants to control from the top but Sobczak keeps moving. Sobczak throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Sobczak not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Sobczak is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sandusky can do to turn this around? Sandusky working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sobczak throws a nice elbow from the bottom. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Sobczak is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sobczak sitting and controlling from the half guard. Sandusky is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Sobczak is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sandusky trying to hold on to Sobczak's head to control him but Sobczak postures up.
Well, if Sobczak is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Sobczak tries to sprawl out of it but Sandusky keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sobczak manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Sobczak keeps Sandusky at a distance using the push kick. Sobczak lands with a kick to the temple. Sandusky shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Sobczak scores with a kick to the body.

Sobczak feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Sandusky's calf. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Sobczak misses with a takedown attempt - Sandusky sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Sandusky lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hunter Sobczak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sobczak fails with the takedown. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Sandusky! But no joy. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sobczak is defended easily by Sandusky. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Sobczak tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sandusky was well out of range. Poor timing from Sobczak. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sandusky shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sobczak defends it nicely. A nice leg kick lands there from Sobczak. Sobczak lands a nice looking kick to the body. Sandusky takes a step back to recover. Sandusky dodges the punch combination from Sobczak.

Sandusky has his takedown stuffed and Sobczak counters with a series of strikes. Sandusky will be more careful next time no doubt. Hunter Sobczak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gary Sandusky.

Sobczak is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Sandusky avoids a punch combination nicely.
Sandusky gets the takedown into side control. Sobczak throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Sobczak throws a series of punches but Sandusky moves out of range. Sobczak changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sandusky tries to avoid it but Sobczak manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sandusky to the ground. Sandusky escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sandusky lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Sandusky shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Sobczak sprawls well. Sobczak wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sandusky gets slowly back to his feet. Hunter Sobczak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sobczak moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Sobczak swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sandusky goes for a double leg but Sobczak avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sobczak continues to drive forward. Sandusky finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Sobczak shoots in but Sandusky avoids the takedown attempt easily. Sobczak misses with a head kick.
Sobczak is looking to wear down Sandusky with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Sobczak fails in his attempt to clinch. Sobczak tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Sobczak with a poor takedown and Sandusky counters with a lovely straight right hand! Sobczak throws a wild body kick that Sandusky sees coming a mile off. Some wild striking there from Sobczak.

Sobczak goes for a double leg but Sandusky avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Sandusky continues to drive forward. Sandusky shoots in and bounces Sobczak off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Sobczak is wriggling around but Sandusky manages to pass to half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Hunter Sobczak showed his dominance in that final round. Well Sobczak has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
