Heavy Weight struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 267.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Elijah Schlesinger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Heavy Weight! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Albert Achterberg and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Schlesinger looking to score a takedown here. Weight is defending well but Schlesinger drives through and ends up in Weight's guard. Schlesinger stopping the sweep attempt from Weight. Weight pushes Schlesinger off and gets back to his feet.
Weight fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Schlesinger stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Schlesinger wants it to stay on the feet. Weight darts in trying to clinch and Schlesinger counters with a single leg into guard. Weight didn't expect that. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Weight looking to hit a scissor sweep but Schlesinger is one step ahead there. Schlesinger trying to control the position from guard on top but Weight is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schlesinger throwing strikes but missing.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Schlesinger slaps away a takedown attempt from Weight, before circling back to the center of the mat. A little feinted left hand from Schlesinger on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Weight decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Schlesinger is breathing heavily. Schlesinger is concentrating on defense, preventing Weight from advancing position. Weight is figuring out what he wants to do next. Schlesinger tries to get to full guard but Weight has control of the leg. Weight working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Weight seems to be looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Weight connects with a nice short shot to Schlesinger's temple. Weight seems to be looking for submissions.
Weight takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Weight is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Weight landing punches. Weight is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Schlesinger to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Schlesinger shrugs it off. Weight looking to finish Schlesinger with some ground and pound. This is bad for Schlesinger! Weight working for a submission but Schlesinger is keeping him at bay. Weight connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Heavy Weight dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Schlesinger attempts a counter takedown but Weight avoids it well and moves away. Schlesinger looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Schlesinger misses with a straight left. Weight throws a combination that misses and Schlesinger counters with a takedown into side control. Weight bucks up and tries to throw Schlesinger off but instead Schlesinger has got his back! Weight rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Weight has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Weight is looking to control Schlesinger's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Weight avoid being mounted? Heavy Weight has got the better of the ground game so far. Weight throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Weight looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. Still in half guard, Schlesinger seems content to control. Schlesinger trying to mount his opponent but Weight defends it. Weight slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Schlesinger scoring with some ground and pound. Schlesinger is looking to advance position but Weight has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Weight lands a couple of good shots and Schlesinger has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schlesinger fending off the submission attempt from Weight. Weight not allowing Schlesinger to control his hands. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Weight's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Weight has the hooks in. Schlesinger is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted. Weight is looking for the choke from the back position but Schlesinger is controlling his hands well. Weight keeps control of the position as Schlesinger tries to break free.

Weight has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Schlesinger is working hard here to advance position. Weight is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Schlesinger won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Weight off his unconscious opponent!
