Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Trike (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hideaki Ryota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryota has chosen Kabuki Gomen-Jyo by Wadaiko Matsuriza as his entrance music. Mike Trike had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trike shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Ryota is trying to defend but Trike finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Trike looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Trike is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Ryota defends it well.
Trike is trying to control. Ryota wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Trike is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ryota is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Trike seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ryota does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Trike is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ryota is just riding it out for now. Trike eventually gives up the hold.

Trike is looking for a kimura but Ryota is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Trike to get the leverage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Trike is looking for submissions but instead, Ryota has regained full guard.
Ryota is trying to keep Trike in close.
Trike makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Trike has gone for a leg lock! Ryota slips out almost immediately though and dives into Trike's guard.

Ryota with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Trike isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ryota stacks Trike on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ryota!
Trike could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
You can see the frustration on Trike's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Trike is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ryota's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ryota wants to free his trapped foot but Trike is holding on for dear life with his legs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Trike is looking to improve his position.
Trike is not content to let Ryota control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Trike will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ryota wants to control from the top but Trike keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ryota throws a strike but Trike rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Ryota can't keep his opponent in guard - Trike advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Ryota wants to get back to full guard.
Trike is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Ryota can do to turn this around?
Trike is keen to just control but Ryota is a slippery customer.

Ryota is breathing heavily.

Trike wants to take a breather but Ryota is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Trike frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Trike is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ryota can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Trike is landing with some decent strikes but Ryota is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Trike swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ryota is now in Trike's guard. A big mistake from Trike there, giving up the dominant position!

Ryota paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Trike - great work!
