Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tom Hess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 14 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Jackson!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Reed Andrews and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson looks to land a combination but Hess avoids it well.
Hess changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Hess decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hess is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jackson!
Jackson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Hess goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Jackson turns into him and now he's in Hess's guard.
Hess seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Jackson wants to stand but Hess is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jackson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Hess pushes a forearm under Jackson's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Jackson is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
