Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donnie Groves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Swagger!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Swagger throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Swagger waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Groves. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Groves to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Groves is rocked!
It looks like Donnie Groves has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Swagger controlling from the top position.
Oh Groves is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Groves will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Groves seems to have got his legs back now.
Swagger stopping the sweep attempt from Groves.
Swagger won't allow Groves to get back to his feet.
Groves can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Swagger controls the pace.
Swagger must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Groves throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Swagger really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Groves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Groves wants to stand up but Swagger is controlling him.
Groves trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Swagger throws a shot to the body.
Groves is breathing heavily.
Swagger is looking to clinch.
Swagger bobbing and weaving well here. And he's unloaded with a massive right hand that drops Groves! He dives into his guard looking to finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Swagger stands and steps away. Groves gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Swagger shoots in and bounces Groves off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Swagger stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Swagger gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Groves is trying to break the clinch but Swagger has him pressed against the cage.
Groves is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Groves keeps control of Swagger as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Swagger tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Groves smiles and moves away.
Swagger lands with a big right hook that stumbles Groves - he's out on his feet here! Swagger follows up with another monster hook that separates Groves from consciousness! Groves falls, almost in slow motion to the canvas! Swagger stands and admires his work as the crowd go wild.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bob Swagger!
