Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Randall Dudley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohamad Essam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Essam's choice of entrance music: Last man standing. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Randall Dudley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mohamad Essam! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Daniel Cesar and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Essam fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dudley sprawls well initially but Essam persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Dudley is trying to get back to full guard. Essam perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Dudley wants to improve his position but Essam is controlling well.
Essam stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Dudley to get to his feet. Essam fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Dudley sprawls well initially but Essam persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Essam is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Dudley tries to roll over but Essam keeps him under control. Essam is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dudley doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Essam.
That's one minute gone in the round. Essam is looking to take a break and control but Dudley is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dudley really is a fat lump. Dudley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Essam decides to return to a standing position. Left hook, right uppercut from Essam.
It looks like Randall Dudley has been cut. Essam gets a takedown into half guard. Dudley is looking to get back to full guard here but Essam has managed to pass to side control instead.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dudley is looking to regain half guard here but Essam keeps moving and retains side control. Dudley manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Dudley is looking for a sweep. Essam is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dudley punching from the bottom.
Essam trying to mount his opponent but Dudley defends it. Dudley tries to roll over but Essam keeps him under control. Essam is figuring out what he wants to do next. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dudley is staying active underneath Essam, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Essam wants to free his trapped foot but Dudley is holding on for dear life with his legs.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Essam sitting and controlling from the half guard. Essam wants to control but Dudley is keeping him busy. Essam looks winded! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dudley tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Essam seems to be looking for submissions.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Dudley closes the distance and clinches.

Dudley has picked Essam up - he's going for a ride! Dudley dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Essam is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dudley pulls his head out easily. Dudley sitting and controlling from the half guard. Dudley continues to stall. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Essam is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dudley is looking to clinch but Essam is avoiding it.
Essam shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Dudley is trying to defend but Essam finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Dudley wants to get back to full guard. Mohamad Essam has got the better of the ground game so far. Dudley with the active half guard here but Essam passes nicely into side control. Essam tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Essam wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dudley keeps working.

The fighters are battling for position here. Dudley manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Essam wants to pass the guard but Dudley is keeping the position. Essam is breathing heavily. Essam wants to control from the top but Dudley keeps moving. Essam preventing the sweep. Dudley trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Essam sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Dudley will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Essam trying to control the position from guard on top but Dudley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dudley tries to land a sweep but no joy. Dudley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Essam's guard.
Essam has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Dudley can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Dudley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Essam has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dudley has managed to get both his arms back between Essam's legs - danger averted. Dudley seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. More hug and hope from Dudley. Dudley throwing strikes but missing.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Essam shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Essam prevents Dudley from improving his position. Essam thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dudley's head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Dudley landing strikes from the bottom. Dudley is trying to control but can't.

Mohamad Essam showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Randall Dudley's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Essam is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Essam wants to control from the top but Dudley keeps moving. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Dudley doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Possibly, maybe, no Dudley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Essam tries to buck Dudley off but Dudley is having none of it.

It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Randall Dudley. I think Essam has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Mohamad Essam! After the fight, Mohamad Essam was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
