Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tom Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 14 - 1, fighting out of London, Bret Ireland! The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ireland was well out of range. Poor timing from Johnson. Ireland shoots in and gets a takedown into Johnson's guard. Ireland must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Ireland tries to stand but Johnson is controlling from the bottom. Johnson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ireland defends well. Johnson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ireland manages to get himself to full guard.
Ireland bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard. Ireland trying to control the position from guard on top but Johnson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ireland engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Ireland defends it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Ireland is proving a slippery customer.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ireland accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Johnson wants to sweep here but Ireland controlling him for the moment. Ireland with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Ireland is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him. Johnson has his feet on Ireland's thighs here. He's pushed Ireland off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Ireland screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
