Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Zmertin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladoslav Sgrnitzj (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladoslav Sgrnitzj! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Konstantin Menshow and Aleksei Zolotukhin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zmertin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Sgrnitzj preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Sgrnitzj trying to control but Zmertin postures up.
Zmertin is working for a submission of some sort.
Zmertin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sgrnitzj does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Zmertin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sgrnitzj is just riding it out for now. Zmertin eventually gives up the hold. Zmertin seems to be looking for submissions.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sgrnitzj keeping hold of Zmertin's head, controlling as best he can. Zmertin lands with a punch from half guard. Sgrnitzj gets back to full guard.
Sgrnitzj has Zmertin pulled in close to control his posture. Zmertin wants to pass the guard but Sgrnitzj is keeping the position. Zmertin really is a fat lump. Zmertin throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Zmertin working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Sgrnitzj shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Zmertin counters with a single leg into guard. Sgrnitzj didn't expect that. Zmertin is breathing heavily. Sgrnitzj trying to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Sgrnitzj tries to control but Zmertin wriggling away. Sgrnitzj postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Zmertin looks a forlorn figure.
Zmertin regains half guard. Zmertin moves into full guard.
Zmertin wants to sweep here but Sgrnitzj controlling him for the moment. Sgrnitzj pushing down on Zmertin's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Zmertin won't allow Sgrnitzj to pass to mount. Zmertin is refusing to be controlled, as Sgrnitzj sits in half guard. Sgrnitzj prevents Zmertin from improving his position.

Sgrnitzj wants to take a breather but Zmertin is having none of it.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Sgrnitzj misses with a takedown attempt and Zmertin counters by clinching up. Zmertin manages to pull guard.

Yuri Zmertin dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Sgrnitzj clinches up with Zmertin and pushes him back against the cage. Sgrnitzj tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Zmertin just stands there and leans against the cage. Sgrnitzj is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Sgrnitzj avoiding damage as Zmertin throws knees to the body.

Zmertin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sgrnitzj pulls his leg out and moves away.
Zmertin looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Sgrnitzj with a poor takedown and Zmertin moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Zmertin gets underhooks to prevent Sgrnitzj's takedown attempt.

He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Sgrnitzj keeping moving, preventing Zmertin from controlling successfully. Sgrnitzj wants to sweep here but Zmertin controlling him for the moment. Sgrnitzj lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Zmertin! Yuri Zmertin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Zmertin is working to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Zmertin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Sgrnitzj trying to control but Zmertin is having none of it. Zmertin is wriggling around trying to escape.
Sgrnitzj avoids the attempt from Zmertin to control. Zmertin is looking to improve his position but Sgrnitzj isn't that keen on the idea. Zmertin is in a horrible position here. Sgrnitzj smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Sgrnitzj is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Zmertin can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

That was a close second round but I would say that Yuri Zmertin will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Zmertin stalks Sgrnitzj and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sgrnitzj's face. Sgrnitzj staggers backwards, shaken. Zmertin misses with a body shot.
Zmertin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Zmertin passes easily into side control. Nice work. Sgrnitzj is looking to reverse the position. Zmertin wants to control but Sgrnitzj is keeping him busy. Zmertin is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sgrnitzj has escaped the position, nice work there. Sgrnitzj manages to get back to half guard. Zmertin is looking for a kimura but Sgrnitzj is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Zmertin to get the leverage. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Sgrnitzj moves into full guard.
Sgrnitzj has control of Zmertin's left arm, preventing Zmertin from doing any damage. Zmertin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zmertin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Sgrnitzj bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Zmertin's guard. Sgrnitzj slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Sgrnitzj looking to pass the guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sgrnitzj is stalling in the full guard. Zmertin tries to strike from the bottom.
Zmertin is trying to control the position but Sgrnitzj postures up. Zmertin pulls Sgrnitzj in close to prevent any damage. Sgrnitzj with a nice head shot there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Zmertin looking for a sweep. Not yet Zmertin, not yet.

Sgrnitzj with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Sgrnitzj gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Sgrnitzj doesn't succeed with the takedown and Zmertin counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Sgrnitzj ducks right into an uppercut from Zmertin. Sgrnitzj with a lazy takedown attempt and Zmertin counters with a takedown into side control. Sgrnitzj wants to control but Zmertin postures up. Zmertin tries for a kimura but Sgrnitzj is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sgrnitzj can't do much from the bottom here. Sgrnitzj is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Zmertin off and has taken his back! Sgrnitzj has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Zmertin's body.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sgrnitzj can do anything to dispel that myth. Sgrnitzj pulls Zmertin in to control the position. Sgrnitzj working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Zmertin. Zmertin passes into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zmertin working the head and body with strikes. Sgrnitzj is staying active underneath Zmertin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Sgrnitzj is trying to get back to full guard. Zmertin scoring with strikes to the body and head. Sgrnitzj desperately trying to maintain half guard. Sgrnitzj trying to control from the bottom.
Vladoslav Sgrnitzj has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Sgrnitzj is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Zmertin's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Zmertin's back! Zmertin breaks Sgrnitzj's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Sgrnitzj is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Zmertin is defending against the submission attempts here by Sgrnitzj.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zmertin makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Zmertin.
And that's the end of the fight! Yuri Zmertin showed his dominance in that final round. Well Zmertin has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
