Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Josh Dale!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Big Country!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Country lands a jab to Dale's midsection.
Dale tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Country jabs at Dale's body.
Country cracks a nice hook into Dale's ribs.
Country throws out a loose jab but Dale uses good head movement to avoid it.

Dale moves into the clinch successfully.
Dale throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Country's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dale throws a sloppy head kick

so Country counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Dale is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Country is controlling him.
Country engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Dale not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Dale really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Country controlling from the top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Country's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Country drops back looking for a leg! Dale is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Dale manages to kick Country off! Country jumps back into Dale's guard.
Country controls from within his opponent's guard.
Dale wants to stand up but Country is controlling him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Country is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Dale wants to stand and escape but Country is having none of it.
Country seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Country forces his way into half guard.
Country is taking a breather. Dale says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Dale knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Country on the ground.

Dale is kicking away at Country from the bottom - trying to push off and stand up. Country grabs hold of a leg and drops back for a heel hook! The two fighters roll across the mat, with Dale trying to push Country off... Dale taps! He's tapped! This one is all over! A throwback to the old Pancrase there with an infrequently seen submission hold! Nice work.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Heel Hook). Big Country!
