Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Simon Vale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Palmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vale comes to the cage accompanied by Motorhead-Iron Fist . Chris Palmer has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Simon Vale's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Simon Vale! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Chris Palmer! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Reed Andrews and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Vale scores with a jab. Palmer acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Vale lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Palmer on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Palmer gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Vale takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Palmer counters with a leg kick. Vale throws a lazy uppercut
and Palmer makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Vale has managed to clinch.
Palmer misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Vale works on Palmer's body with a couple of short punches. Vale scores with a shoulder strike. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Palmer breaks from the clinch.
Vale throws a shot from downtown. Palmer moves away and avoids it. Vale with a poor takedown letting Palmer counter with a right hand. Vale tries to close the distance and clinch but Palmer swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Vale shoots in and gets a takedown into Palmer's guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Vale's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Vale makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Palmer wants to stand but Vale is controlling the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Vale throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Palmer works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Vale works over Palmer with some ground and pound from guard. Vale is looking to work some ground and pound but Palmer has wrist control. Vale scoring with some ground and pound. Vale keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Palmer's head. Vale lands a couple of decent looking shots. Palmer trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Vale has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A slow jab from Vale misses its intended target. Vale ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Palmer moves away. Vale throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Vale checks a leg kick. Vale feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Palmers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Vale misses with a looping left. Vale stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Vale connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
It looks like Chris Palmer has been cut. Palmer connects with a solid leg kick. Palmer misses the shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Vale rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Palmer counters with a low kick, right behind Vale 's knee. Vale ducks under a wild hook from Palmer. Palmer takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Vale throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Vale is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Vale throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Palmer on the side of the head. Vale throws a right hand that Palmer ducks under and follows up with a left that Palmer also avoids with ease. Vale lands with a good body shot. Palmer misses with a takedown attempt - Vale sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Palmer looks winded! A jab from Vale does it's job there. Vale throws a nice looking combination but Palmer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Vale tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Palmer manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Palmer throws a nice inside leg kick. Palmer fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Palmer uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Vale. Vale throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A slow jab from Palmer misses its intended target. Palmer staying out of range there. Palmer looks like he wants to counter punch here. Vale misses the shot to the body. Palmer with the counter takedown but Vale avoids it easily. Vale sizes up Palmer with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Palmer misses with a right hand and Vale counters with a straight right hand. Palmer is trying hard to land a takedown here. Vale sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Vale is looking to counter punch. Vale is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. Palmer slips under a jab. Vale scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Palmer throws an overhand right that lands on Vale's shoulder, as Vale tries to avoid the shot. It looked like Vale wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Palmer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Vale lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. A lazy left from Vale finds it's target. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Palmer connects with a high kick. Vale drives through with a takedown into Palmer's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Vale distracts Palmer with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Palmer working for a triangle but Vale defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Vale closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Palmer quickly recovers to half guard. Palmer taking some punishment here, with Vale in his half guard. Simon Vale overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Palmer goes for a double leg but Vale avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Vale continues to drive forward. Vale misses with a wild combination.
Vale feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Palmers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Palmer throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Vale counters with a nice uppercut. Palmer moves forwards but Vale connects with a nice, crisp jab. Vale shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Palmer manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Palmer pushes Vale off and gets back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Simon Vale. Well Vale has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
