Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eldridge Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Mafeet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Mafeet has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Eldridge Anderson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Eldridge Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Mafeet!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mafeet throws a nice outside leg kick.
Mafeet fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Anderson.
Mafeet scores with a kick to the body.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mafeet.
Anderson throws a nice looking combination but Mafeet bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Good leg kick by Mafeet there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Anderson misses with a wild combination.
Mafeet chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Anderson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Anderson throws a head kick that misses.
Mafeet lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Mafeet connects with a leg kick. Anderson looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mafeet.

Mafeet closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mafeet lands in his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Mafeet controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Anderson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mafeet defends it easily.
Anderson is breathing heavily.

Anderson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Anderson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mafeet is aware though and is defending well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Anderson trying to keep a closed guard but Mafeet is proving a slippery customer.
Mafeet is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mafeet stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Anderson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Anderson has his foot on Mafeet's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mafeet works his way back into a safe position though.

Anderson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mafeet doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mafeet manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Anderson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Mafeet thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Anderson if he has to take too many more of those.
Anderson takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Mafeet throws a nice inside leg kick.
Mafeet throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Mafeet scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Mafeet throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Mafeet lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Anderson takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Mafeet lets loose with a powerful body kick. Anderson will feel that in the morning.
A thudding body kick lands there by Mafeet!
Anderson takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Mafeet lands with a kick to the ribs.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mafeet throws a front kick that sends Anderson stumbling back into the cage.

Mafeet pushes Anderson away with a front kick.
Mafeet scores with a nice body kick.
Mafeet lets loose with a powerful body kick. Anderson will feel that in the morning.
Anderson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mafeet thows a body kick. Anderson tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Both fighters circling a little - Mafeet finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Anderson shoots for a double leg takedown but Mafeet sprawls well. He's pushed Anderson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Mafeet lands a nice leg kick that just misses Anderson's sensitive parts.

Anderson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mafeet to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Mafeet must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Mafeet won't allow Anderson to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mafeet moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Mafeet looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Anderson tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mafeet lands a front kick.
Mafeet connects with a solid leg kick.
Mafeet scores with a nice body kick.
Anderson will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
Anderson chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mafeet can pounce on him.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Mafeet.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Mafeet.

Anderson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mafeet to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Anderson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Mafeet is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Anderson is trying to break the clinch but Mafeet has him pressed against the cage.
Mafeet has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Anderson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Anderson is trying to keep Mafeet in close.

Anderson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mafeet can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Anderson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Anderson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Anderson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Anderson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
A slapping body kick lands there for Mafeet.
Eldridge Anderson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Anderson crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mafeet - the referee stops the clock and Anderson gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mafeet. Anderson manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
A slapping body kick lands there for Mafeet.
Mafeet connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Mafeet scores with a spinning back kick!
Jason Mafeet seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Mafeet lands with a thumping leg kick.
Anderson is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mafeet throws a half hearted mid kick.
Mafeet dodges the punch combination from Anderson.
Mafeet changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A chopping leg kick lands by Mafeet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Mafeet showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Mafeet looks to land a body kick but Anderson moved away.
Anderson takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.

Mafeet throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Anderson was covering up waiting for the punch and Mafeet finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Mafeet has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Anderson wants to sweep but no luck.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anderson is on top in guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mafeet working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Anderson.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Anderson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Mafeet seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Anderson working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Anderson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Anderson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Anderson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Mafeet works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Anderson postures up in Mafeet's guard and throws a big left but Mafeet blocks it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Anderson shoots in looking for a takedown. Mafeet tries to sprawl out of it but Anderson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mafeet manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Anderson on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Mafeet. Mafeet obviously looking to wear him down.
Mafeet throws a leg kick which misses Anderson's front leg but catches the back leg as Anderson tries to avoid it.

and Anderson counters by moving into the clinch.
Mafeet is trying to break the clinch but Anderson has him pressed against the cage.

Anderson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A nice inside leg kick there by Mafeet. That's going to slow Anderson down.
Mafeet looks for the body kick but Anderson saw that one coming.
Anderson is looking for a counter combo.

Anderson bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Anderson in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
The strikes coming from Anderson are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mafeet can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mafeet wants to control but Anderson postures up.
Mafeet is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Anderson is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Anderson throwing strikes here but Mafeet is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Anderson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Mafeet is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Eldridge Anderson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Mafeet is in all sorts of trouble here.
Anderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Anderson thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Anderson misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Eldridge Anderson showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Mafeet has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
