Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
27 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Convicted Killer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
16 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cam Newton! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Killer misses with a low kick as Newton jumps back. Newton throws a series of punches but Killer avoids them all with ease. Newton misses with a hook
and Killer counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A nice leg kick lands there from Killer. Good leg kick by Killer there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Newton throws a series of punches but Killer avoids them all with ease. Killer digs a good body shot into Newton's ribs. Killer bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Newton's head backwards. Killer steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Newton. Killer wants to clinch. Killer wants to land a leg kick but Newton is out of range. Newton appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Killer misses with an uppercut. A countering left hand to the body from Newton misses.
That's one minute gone in the round. Killer throws a body shot but no joy. Newton avoids the body shot from Killer.
Killer connects with a leg kick. Newton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Newton swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Newton has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Killer throws a lazy head kick and Killer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Convicted Killer has been cut. Killer throws a shot from downtown. Newton moves away and avoids it. Killer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Newton looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Newton dodges the punch combination from Killer.
A little jabbing left from Newton on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Killer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Jab, jab by Killer - just one landing. A combination from Newton does no damage. Newton just misses with a punch to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Newton tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Killer turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. Killer throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Despite the aggression on Newton's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Killer sizes up Newton with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Killer looks to land a body kick but Newton moved away. Not much technique there but it did the business. Killer is looking to score with low kicks. Killer fails to land with a series of punches.
A head kick misses from Killer. Newton pushing out the jab but it's not landing. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Newton crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Killer - the referee stops the clock and Newton gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Killer. Newton manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Killer misses with a jab, cross combination.

Killer misses with a body kick. Newton cracks Killer with an open hand slap. Newton lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Convicted Killer dominated that round. The cut man is working on Convicted Killer's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Newton might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Killer has got the better of the exchanges. Killer throws a head kick that misses and Newton counters with a crisp one two that drops Killer! Newton thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Killer to his feet! Killer is in big trouble!
Killer is rocked! Killer throws a chopping leg kick but Newton manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Newton is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Oh Killer is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Newton has cracked Killer with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Newton lands another huge swinging hook and Killer tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Killer, before Newton can land any more shots!
