The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sumo misses with a straight left.
Sumo closes the distance and clinches.
Boyd gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sumo.
Sumo pulls guard effortlessly.
Sumo trying to keep a closed guard but Boyd is proving a slippery customer.
Boyd content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boyd decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Sumo lands a nice looking body kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Boyd gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Boyd is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Sumo frees his head nicely. Oh but Boyd has switched to an armbar! Sumo is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
