Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lee Pang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micky Thorton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Lee Pang! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Micky Thorton! The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Josh West and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pang is looking to score with low kicks. Thorton shoots in looking for a takedown. Pang tries to sprawl out of it but Thorton keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pang manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pang was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Thorton dives in for a single leg takedown but Pang sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Thorton closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thorton lands in his opponent's guard. Pang is looking to stand back up but Thorton counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Pang. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thorton wants to take a breather but Pang is having none of it. Thorton is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. The referee warns Pang that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Thorton can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pang is looking to escape. Pang tries to reverse the position but Thorton maintains control. A nice elbow there by Thorton. Thorton punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorton lands a big shot there that rocks Pang but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Thorton in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.

Thorton misses with an uppercut. Thorton tries for a takedown but Pang sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice body punch from Pang. Thorton is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pang's half guard. Thorton missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Micky Thorton has got the better of the ground game so far. Thorton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Pang's head. Thorton perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thorton wants to take a breather but Pang is having none of it. Thorton is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Thorton lands strikes from half guard. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Thorton in particular looking to stall.
That's one minute gone in the round. Thorton trying to control the action but Pang is working from the bottom. Thorton controlling the action here. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Pang moves into full guard.
Pang wants to stand up but Thorton is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Thorton accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Thorton dives in for a single leg takedown but Pang sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Pang throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Thorton moves out of range of the strikes. Thorton is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Pang throws a right and a left that both miss. Thorton's coach down at MM eh Academy was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Thorton's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Pang throws a lazy head kick and Thorton counters by moving into the clinch. A frustrated look appears on Pang's face as he tries to break the clinch. Pang is looking to break free of the clinch but Thorton has double underhooks. Pang working hard to break the clinch. Thorton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pang defending well as Thorton loads up on a big left hand. Thorton shoots in and gets a takedown into Pang's guard. Pang has his feet on Thorton's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Thorton showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Pang.
No joy there for Thorton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Thorton misses with a takedown and Pang counters with a big head kick but Thorton shrugs it off. Lee Pang has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Micky Thorton. Pang misses with a kick to the body and Thorton counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Pang wants to get back to his feet. Thorton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Thorton wants to pass to mount but Pang is defending the position. Pang might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Pang trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pang taking some punishment here, with Thorton in his half guard. Thorton working over Pang with some ground and pound. Pang looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Pang is in trouble now - Thorton has advanced to mount! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Thorton lands a nice shot to the head. Thorton trying to control but Pang is having none of it. Thorton moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Pang has worked his arm free - good work by Pang!

A close second round but Micky Thorton will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Lee Pang is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Pang avoids the body shot from Thorton.
Pang seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Pang looks to land a combination. Thorton sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Pang throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Thorton counters with a shoot takedown. Pang fights it but they end up in guard. Thorton controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thorton is pushing down on Pang's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pang is fighting to maintain full guard but Thorton has managed to sneak the leg through. Thorton has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Thorton is looking to take a break and control but Pang is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Thorton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pang haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Thorton seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Thorton controlling the action here. Thorton is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Pang has managed to free his arm - good work. Lee Pang has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Pang pushes Thorton off looking to stand but Thorton dives back in and keeps control.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pang looks to land a combination but Thorton avoids it well. Thorton changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Lee Pang is winning the standup battle so far. Pang misses with a double jab
and Thorton counters with a takedown into side control. Thorton working the ground and pound. Pang tries to bench press Thorton off him but Thorton keeps the position. Thorton wants to lay and pray for a moment but Pang keeps working. Thorton throws an elbow but Pang slips to the side and avoids it well. Thorton content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. Thorton working the ground and pound.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Thorton is looking to take a break and control but Pang is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
