Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
34 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dre Parker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 13 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Adam Breneman! The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Breneman scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Dre Parker has been cut. Breneman misses with a few strikes there.
Breneman misses with a wild combination.
Breneman with a hook. Parker bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Breneman's head. A punch combination from Breneman misses. Parker appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick. Breneman shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Parker defends it nicely. Breneman scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Parker on the wrong end of a nice jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Breneman throws a right hand that Parker ducks under and follows up with a left that Parker also avoids with ease. Parker is looking to counter punch. Breneman misses with a straight right. Breneman doesn't manage to clinch there - Parker circles away.
Breneman looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Parker! Breneman throwing shots but missing, from side control. Breneman working the head and body with strikes. Breneman slows the pace down. Breneman fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Breneman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Parker keeps working. Breneman throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Parker trying to remain calm as Breneman controls from the top position. Breneman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Breneman trying to control the position but Parker is working away. Breneman is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Breneman wants to take a breather but Parker manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Breneman. Parker is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Breneman trying to control but Parker is working from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Breneman sitting in guard here, content to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Parker keeping moving, preventing Breneman from controlling successfully. Parker preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Breneman scores with a jab to the body. Breneman takes a swing at Parker's ribcage but misses. Parker throws out a loose jab but Breneman uses good head movement to avoid it. Adam Breneman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Breneman looks to score with a jab to the body but Parker is just out of range. As Breneman looks to move away, Parker throws a big counter combo but Breneman just gets out of the way.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Parker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
It looks like Adam Breneman has been cut. Breneman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Breneman connects with a couple of short punches. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Breneman wants to stand but Parker is controlling his posture from full guard. Breneman throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Breneman trying to control the position from guard on top but Parker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Breneman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Parker manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Breneman has Parker in his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Parker postures up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Adam Breneman dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Parker ducks right into an uppercut from Breneman. Breneman drops Parker with a beautiful combination! Parker stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Breneman is looking for the KO!
Parker is rocked! Breneman dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Oh Parker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Adam Breneman seems to be getting the better of the standup. Breneman misses with a series of wild punches.
Parker seems to have got his legs back now. Breneman misses with a takedown attempt and Parker cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Breneman's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Parker connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Breneman scrambles back to his feet. Parker's corner calls for a 1-2. Parker obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Breneman throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Parker stumbling backwards into the cage! Parker bounces back off the cage towards Breneman, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Breneman lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Breneman celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Adam Breneman! Adam Breneman tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
