Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nate Heywood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sampson Kesler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Heywood comes to the cage accompanied by Go Hard-DJ Khaled. Sampson Kesler has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heywood shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Heywood showed some decent athleticism there.
Heywood wants to pass the guard but Kesler is defending well.

Heywood seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Heywood takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Heywood lands a nice short elbow.
Kesler is looking to control Heywood's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kesler avoid being mounted?

It looks like Sampson Kesler has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Heywood is nestled in close to Kesler, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Kesler is still in real trouble! Can Heywood finish him?
Kesler is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Heywood scores with a couple of nice shots.

Heywood has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Kesler wants to get back to his feet.
Kesler seems to have recovered his senses.
Kesler really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Heywood. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Heywood works his foot free and advances to mount.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kesler takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The cut above Sampson Kesler's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Heywood cracks Kesler with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Sampson Kesler's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sampson Kesler's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
