Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Phil Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Roosy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Phil Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, JJ Roosy! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roosy moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Roosy throws a counter combo. Roosy fails in his attempt to clinch. Roosy gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Roosy breaks from the clinch.
Perez instigates a clinch. With the fighters up against the cage, Perez throws an elbow but misses. Roosy breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Perez closes the distance looking to clinch and Roosy counters with a nice double leg into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Roosy passes into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roosy tries to stand but his arm is trapped. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Roosy keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Roosy prevents Perez from improving his position. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Roosy in particular looking to stall. Perez is looking to improve his position.
Perez makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Perez. Roosy working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Perez's head. Roosy preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Perez is trying to keep Roosy in close.
Perez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Roosy is one step ahead there. Roosy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Roosy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Perez keeps working. Roosy gets to mount! Perez was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Roosy trying to control but Perez is having none of it. Perez keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Roosy controlling from the full mount. Perez tries to hold on but Roosy pushes him away. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Roosy cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Perez takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Roosy can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Perez is looking to escape. Roosy sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Roosy working for a guillotine from mount but Perez is in no mood to give up. Perez tries to improve his position but instead Roosy has taken his back! You can see the frustration on Perez's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Can Perez hold on?! Roosy is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

Perez is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Perez is working hard here to advance position. Perez is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Roosy.

Perez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roosy as he jumps to the side. Phil Perez is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Roosy tries to clinch there but Perez circles away.

JJ Roosy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Perez shoots in for a double leg but Roosy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Roosy shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Perez sprawls well. Perez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Roosy gets slowly back to his feet. Phil Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of JJ Roosy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez tries to close the distance and clinch but Roosy swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Roosy steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Perez. Roosy looks for the body kick but Perez saw that one coming. Roosy shoots for a takedown but Perez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Roosy fails with a takedown attempt. Perez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. Roosy is breathing heavily. Perez fails with the takedown and Roosy counters with a stiff right hand. No luck with that takedown attempt from Roosy. Perez throws a big counter combination but Roosy scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roosy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Perez throws out the jab. Roosy tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Roosy tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Perez manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Perez is looking to counter the offense by Roosy and move into the clinch. Perez has managed to clinch.
Perez has hold of one of Roosy's legs. Roosy is fighting the takedown attempt but Perez gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard. Roosy working a defensive guard here.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Roosy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Perez manages to get himself to full guard.
Perez tries to land a sweep but no joy. Perez doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Perez is striking but Roosy is not phased and passes to half guard. Roosy scoring with strikes to the body and head. Perez is trying to get back to full guard. Roosy has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Roosy takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Roosy landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Perez is looking to improve his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Roosy lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Roosy controlling the action here. Roosy is nestled in close to Perez, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Roosy is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Roosy avoids the attempt from Perez to control. Roosy wants to finish this one by submission but Perez is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Roosy. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Perez is trying to escape the mount.
Roosy is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Perez is surviving well by controlling Roosy's body position as best he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but JJ Roosy will probably get the nod - 10:9. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Perez, as that shot connected.
Roosy throws a half hearted mid kick. Perez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Roosy. Roosy circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Roosy takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Perez feinted with a counter takedown. Perez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Roosy sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Perez somewhat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A low kick from Roosy is predictable there and Perez counters with a big head kick but Roosy shrugs it off.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roosy throws the left hand but Perez avoids the punch easily. Perez wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Perez looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Roosy! Perez is working Roosy over with some ground and pound from side control. Roosy is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Perez off and has taken his back! Both fighters are breathing heavily. Roosy avoiding Perez 's attempts to control his hands. Roosy is looking to finish with some ground and pound! Perez tries to break free.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Roosy has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Perez just trying to survive but Roosy is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. JJ Roosy has got the better of the ground game so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roosy is working for a rear naked choke. Perez is not defending it well and Roosy has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Perez refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Perez's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
