0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Fernando Raez! The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Spice walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Spice tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Raez stuns Spice with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Raez darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Spice is looking to take this fight into the clinch. It seemed like Raez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Spice throws a body shot but no joy. As Spice backs off Raez throws a huge counter combo but Spice manages to avoid it all. Raez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Spice. Spice shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Raez counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Spice shoots in and drives through. Raez sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pumpkin Spice. That's going to take a lot out of him. Raez dips to his left and cracks Spice with an uppercut! Raez scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Nice straight punches there by Raez. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Raez. Spice drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. This has been an exciting period of action! Spice throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Raez's waist but Raez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Spice off to one side. Spice avoids a kick to the body.

Raez is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Raez stalks Spice and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Spice's face. Spice staggers backwards, shaken. Raez misses with a few strikes there.
Spice moves in looking to clinch but Raez pushes him off. Raez is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Spice had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté. Raez dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Spice takes one on the button. Spice doesn't succeed with the takedown and Raez counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Spice with a poor takedown and Raez connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Spice is breathing heavily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Raez fakes a jab and then connects with a hook. Spice gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Raez counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Pumpkin Spice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Raez slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Raez lands a nice looking body shot.

Spice looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Spice shoots in looking for a takedown but Raez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Spice's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Raez has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Raez scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Spice dives in and grabs Raez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Raez pushes down on Spice's head and hops out. Raez let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land. Raez stuns Spice with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Fernando Raez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Spice fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Raez sprawls well initially but Spice persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Raez on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Raez wants to improve his position but Spice is controlling well.

Raez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Spice misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Spice tries for a takedown but Raez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Raez lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Raez is looking to land body kicks. Raez sizes up Spice with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

He's pushed Spice's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Raez scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Danga de danga de dang - Raez scores with a four punch combination! No luck for Spice with that takedown attempt. Raez looks to land a combination. Spice sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. A jab from Raez does it's job there. Raez moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Raez with a jab.

Raez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Spice with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Spice working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Raez's head. Spice distracts Raez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Fernando Raez is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Raez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
And that's the end of the fight! Fernando Raez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Raez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
