Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lyndon Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nate Diaz! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Diaz scores with a takedown into Perez's guard. Perez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Diaz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Perez works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Perez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Diaz on the ground. Perez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Perez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Diaz tries to stand but Perez is controlling from the bottom. Diaz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Perez working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Diaz. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Diaz is looking to work some ground and pound but Perez has wrist control. Diaz wants to control from the top but Perez keeps moving. Diaz stands up from Perez's guard - Diaz perhaps looking for a knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round. Diaz bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Perez's head backwards. Diaz lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Lyndon Perez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Diaz misses with a two punch combination.
Diaz connects with the punch. Diaz throws a series of punches but Perez avoids them all with ease. Diaz connects with a nice looking jab.
Diaz connects with a solid leg kick. Diaz clobbers Perez with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Perez is rocked! Diaz lands with an uppercut that bounces Perez off the cage and back into range. Oh Perez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Nate Diaz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Diaz throws an overhand right that drops Perez like a sack of potatoes! Diaz dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
