Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Fred Hampton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Larith Shun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Fred Hampton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Larith Shun!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hampton jabs Shun to the body, keeping him at a distance.

Hampton feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Shun looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hampton is one step ahead there.

Shun bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hampton's guard.

Shun must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Shun looking to sit in guard and control but Hampton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hampton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Hampton works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
You can see the frustration on Shun's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Hampton is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Shun takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Shun manages to get back to half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Hampton lands a nice short elbow.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Shun is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hampton looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Shun with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Hampton is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Hampton working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are battling for position here. Shun manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Shun is looking to sweep but instead, Hampton has passed into half guard.
Shun is trying to get back to full guard.
Hampton is controlling the pace.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Shun is looking for a sweep. Hampton is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fred Hampton dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Shun doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Hampton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Shun looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Shun shoots for a takedown but Hampton saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Hampton is looking to counter the offense by Shun and move into the clinch.
Larith Shun is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Good shot there by Hampton.
Hampton ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Hampton catches Shun with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Horrible takedown attempt by Shun or perhaps it was just good defense by Hampton, which made it look bad.
Fred Hampton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Larith Shun.
Hampton lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shun tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hampton swivels and escapes.

and Hampton counters with a single leg into guard. Shun didn't expect that.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Shun looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hampton puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Hampton perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hampton uses his free foot to push down on Shun's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Shun.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hampton cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
