Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Delphino Atlantis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eddy Maiden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Atlantis comes to the cage accompanied by Rancid - Time Bomb. Maiden has chosen Iron Maiden as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
17 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Delphino Atlantis! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 14 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eddy Maiden! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Elvis Blanc.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Atlantis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Atlantis looks to clinch and Maiden counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Atlantis tries to roll over but Maiden keeps him under control. Atlantis is not content to let Maiden control the position. Atlantis is trying to get back to full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Maiden tries to pass the half guard into mount. Atlantis knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. The fighters are battling for position here. Atlantis manages to regain full guard. Nice work. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atlantis controls Maiden momentarily but Maiden frees himself. Maiden trying to control the position from guard on top but Atlantis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Atlantis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Maiden advances to half guard. Atlantis regains full guard. Nicely done. Maiden engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Maiden wants to pass the guard but Atlantis is keeping the position. Maiden sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Atlantis's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Maiden is looking to take a break and control but Atlantis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Atlantis is looking for a sweep. Maiden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Maiden is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Atlantis sees it coming and defends easily. Atlantis taking some punishment here, with Maiden in his half guard. Atlantis won't allow Maiden to pass to mount. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Maiden trying to control from half guard but Atlantis is working away. Maiden is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard. Atlantis is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atlantis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Maiden is one step ahead there. Maiden trying to control the position from guard on top but Atlantis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Maiden postures up in Atlantis's guard and throws a big left but Atlantis blocks it. Atlantis looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Atlantis working for a triangle but Maiden defends it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Maiden looking to pass the guard.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Maiden misses with a looping left. Atlantis misses with a low kick as Maiden jumps back. Atlantis throws a hook but Maiden avoids it easily. Maiden tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Maiden slips under a jab from Atlantis. Atlantis is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Maiden. Atlantis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Maiden is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Maiden avoids the body shot from Atlantis.

And Maiden responds with a good body kick, but Atlantis manages to step out the way in time. Maiden misses with the body kick and Atlantis counters with a stiff right hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Delphino Atlantis will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Maiden - that will leave a mark!
Maiden takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Eddy Maiden has been cut. Atlantis blocks the body kick.

Maiden steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Atlantis falls off balance throwing a combination
and Maiden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Maiden looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. As Maiden looks to move away, Atlantis throws a big counter combo but Maiden just gets out of the way. Maiden misses with a head kick.
Delphino Atlantis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Atlantis ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Maiden moves away. Atlantis looks to score with a jab to the body but Maiden is just out of range. Atlantis walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Atlantis throws out a loose jab but Maiden uses good head movement to avoid it. Atlantis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Atlantis throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Maiden cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Atlantis jabbing away but nothing is landing. And Maiden tries to counter it with a takedown but Atlantis pushes his down on his head and steps out. Maiden tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Atlantis rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Maiden counters with a straight right hand. Atlantis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maiden was well out of range. Poor timing from Atlantis. Maiden looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Maiden's coach down at Tayne's 4d3d3d3 Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Maiden's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight. Atlantis doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Atlantis misses the shot to the body. Maiden throws a body punch but Atlantis moves out of range. Atlantis has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Maiden. Maiden is looking to land body kicks. A little feinted left hand from Atlantis on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ouch! a nice leg kick from Atlantis, right into the meat.
Delphino Atlantis is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Maiden connects with a single shot there. Atlantis throws a body shot but no joy. Maiden lets loose with a powerful body kick. Atlantis will feel that in the morning. A chopping leg kick lands by Atlantis. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Atlantis tries a head kick but it misses.
Atlantis throws a looping overhand right but Maiden ducks down to avoid it. Maiden replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Atlantis blocks it well. Atlantis takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Maiden uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Atlantis. Atlantis throws a leg kick but Maiden sees it coming and moves out of range. Maiden is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Atlantis moves away from the strike by Maiden. Atlantis misses with a shot to the body and Maiden counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Atlantis misses with a hook. Maiden ducked under it nicely. Maiden is trying to counter with his kicks. Maiden throws a sloppy head kick and Atlantis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Atlantis closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Maiden tries a body shot but Atlantis blocks it.

Maiden is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Atlantis throws a looping overhand right but Maiden ducks down to avoid it.

A head kick misses from Maiden. Maiden tries to keep at a distance but Atlantis has taken the fight into the clinch. Maiden has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Atlantis uses from the top position. Atlantis working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Maiden's head. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Maiden looking to hit a scissor sweep but Atlantis is one step ahead there. Maiden has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Atlantis can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Maiden is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Eddy Maiden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Eddy Maiden's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Atlantis misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Maiden counters with a stiff right hand. Atlantis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Maiden. Maiden throws a fast counter high kick but Atlantis manages to duck under it in time. Atlantis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Maiden manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Eddy Maiden seems to be getting the better of the standup. Both fighters circling a little - Maiden finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. A shot to the liver by Atlantis. Beautiful body shot. Maiden throws a head kick that misses. Atlantis is looking to take this fight into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Atlantis slips under a jab. Maiden throws a lazy body kick and Atlantis counters with a nice uppercut. Good exchange - Atlantis coming out on top.
That's one minute gone in the round. Maiden looks to land a body kick but Atlantis moved away. Maiden throws a push kick but Atlantis slaps the foot to one side. Atlantis misses with a few strikes there.
Atlantis connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Maiden momentarily.
A low kick from Atlantis misses and Maiden counters with a nice double leg into guard. Maiden in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Maiden is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Atlantis is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Maiden is aware though and is defending well. Maiden looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Maiden throws an elbow that misses. Atlantis uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Maiden's guard. Nice move by Atlantis!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Atlantis won't allow Maiden to sweep him here. Atlantis looking to sit in guard and control but Maiden gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Maiden is fighting to break Atlantis's control of his arms but Atlantis is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Atlantis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Maiden defends well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Maiden trying to control but Atlantis is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Maiden tries to pass to full mount but Atlantis defends it. Maiden wants to control but Atlantis is keeping him busy. Maiden passes to full mount! Maiden working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Maiden can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Atlantis is looking to escape. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Atlantis tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Eddy Maiden. I think Maiden has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Our winner, Eddy Maiden, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans. Delphino Atlantis was interviewed post fight and said 'He slippery dolphinned me me, I need to see a doctor and a therapist in no particular order.'.
