The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ellis gets a clinch.
Chan is trying to maintain a safe position but Ellis gets an underhook and turns Chan into the cage.
I was talking to Ellis's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Ellis throws a head punch that misses.
Chan digs a right hand into Ellis's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Ellis's gas tank.
Ellis is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Ellis content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Ellis looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Ellis swings wildly with an uppercut but Chan uses good head movement to avoid it.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Ellis creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Chan is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Ellis is defending well.

Ellis manages to break the clinch.
Ellis looks to score with a jab to the body but Chan is just out of range.

Ellis closes the distance and clinches.

Ellis could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Ellis goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chan prevents it.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ellis decides to stand up, so the ref orders Chan to his feet.
Ellis misses with a hook.
No joy there for Ellis, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ellis clinches.
Chan can't get the takedown.
Chan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ellis makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Ellis tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Chan blocks a body shot from Ellis.

Ellis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Chan fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Marv Ellis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacky Chan.
Ellis throws a jab but it's blocked by Chan.
Ellis throws a series of punches but Chan avoids them all with ease.
Ellis throws a body punch but Chan moves out of range.
Chan wants to clinch.
As Chan tries to get set, Ellis tries to push him back and clinch up but Chan manages to avoid the attempt.
Ellis stuffs the takedown.

Ellis clinches up with Chan and pushes him back against the cage.
Ellis tries a body shot but Chan blocks it.
Ellis throws an elbow but it misses.
Ellis dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Ellis lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Chan backwards.

Ellis lands a nice uppercut.
Ellis misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ellis has Chan pressed against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Chan's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Ellis tries to land knees in the clinch but Chan avoids the damage to the body.

With the fighters up against the cage, Ellis throws an elbow but misses.
Ellis creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

Chan looking to throw knees to the head but Ellis is blocking nicely.
Ellis tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ellis misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Ellis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Ellis closes the distance and clinches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marv Ellis dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Chan shoots in but no luck this time.
Chan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ellis circles away.
Ellis is looking to counter the offense by Chan and move into the clinch.
Ellis uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Chan.
Ellis throws a shot to the body.
Chan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ellis as he avoids it easily.
Marv Ellis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacky Chan.
Ellis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Ellis swings for the body but Chan moves out of range.
Chan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ellis but Ellis pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Ellis scores with a nice head shot.
Ellis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Chan can do to turn this around?

Horrible takedown attempt by Chan or perhaps it was just good defense by Ellis, which made it look bad.

Chan fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ellis on the side of the head.
Chan keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ellis jabs Chan right on the nose. Chan blinks but takes it well.
Chan's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Ellis connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Chan scrambles back to his feet.


Chan is rocked!
Ellis lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Chan falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ellis dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marv Ellis!
