Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Grover Castaneda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rangnar Krell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rangnar Krell is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Grover Castaneda! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rangnar Krell ! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castaneda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Krell but Krell pushes him off and we're back to square one. Castaneda throws a combination that misses so Krell counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Krell looking to control the position here, rather than advance. It looks like Krell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Krell wants to pass the guard but Castaneda is keeping the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krell showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castaneda working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Krell doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Krell manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Castaneda looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Krell controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Castaneda keeping full guard, as Krell tries to pass. Krell is pushing down on Castaneda's leg trying to pass to half guard. Castaneda is fighting to maintain full guard but Krell has managed to sneak the leg through. Castaneda won't allow Krell to pass to mount. Still in half guard, Krell seems content to control. Let's hope that Krell has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Castaneda wants to control but Krell is keeping busy.
Krell is looking to advance position but Castaneda won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Krell looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Krell 's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Krell gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Castaneda to score an easy takedown into full guard. Krell looking to hit a scissor sweep but Castaneda is one step ahead there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Castaneda wanted to stand there but Krell had control of the position. Castaneda showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Castaneda gets to his feet - Krell follows without any prompting. Castaneda misses with a double jab.
Krell leaves Castaneda with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Castaneda shoots in and bounces Krell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Krell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Castaneda would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Castaneda trying to control the position from guard on top but Krell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Grover Castaneda will probably get the nod. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Krell throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Castaneda's waist but Castaneda gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Krell off to one side. Castaneda shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Krell as he jumps to the side. And Krell tries to counter it with a takedown but Castaneda pushes his down on his head and steps out. Krell has a takedown stuffed. Grover Castaneda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castaneda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Krell circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Krell looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Grover Castaneda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rangnar Krell . Castaneda shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Krell as he avoids it easily. Krell with the counter takedown but Castaneda avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Castaneda moves into the clinch. Castaneda is pressed up against the cage. Krell has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Castaneda down to the mat. Castaneda avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Castaneda misses with a takedown attempt - Krell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Castaneda has managed to clinch.

Krell is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Castaneda pulls him back up using the underhooks. Krell has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Castaneda avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Krell is breathing heavily. Castaneda is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace. Krell is looking to take this one to the mat. Krell wants a takedown but no success here.
Krell is trying to drag Castaneda to the mat but Castaneda just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Castaneda has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Krell after a bit of a struggle. Krell drops down looking for an ankle pick but Castaneda pulls his leg out and moves away.

Castaneda decides to take the fight back to the feet. Castaneda fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Krell avoids it really well and circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Grover Castaneda dominated that second round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Castaneda wants it to stay on the feet. Castaneda misses with a takedown attempt - Krell sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. And Krell tries to counter it with a takedown but Castaneda pushes his down on his head and steps out. Krell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Castaneda throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Krell . Krell closes the distance and clinches up with Castaneda, looking for a takedown. Krell pushes Castaneda against the cage but Castaneda circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castaneda defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Krell . Krell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Castaneda as he jumps to the side. Castaneda has a takedown stuffed. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Krell tries to score a power double leg takedown but Castaneda sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Krell somewhat.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Grover Castaneda. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Castaneda, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
