Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Houston Nutt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Roberts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Houston Nutt had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 146.6lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Jeff Roberts has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Houston Nutt's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nutt lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Jeff Roberts has been cut.
Roberts takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Roberts shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Nutt is trying to defend but Roberts finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Nutt regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Roberts.

Nutt feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Robertss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Roberts takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Nutt tries to bum rush Roberts with a series of wild strikes but Roberts uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nutt feints and then cracks Roberts's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Roberts down.
Nutt connects with a jab.
Nutt swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Roberts counters with a shoot takedown. Nutt fights it but they end up in guard.
Roberts working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Nutt is rocked!
Roberts loads up on a big left hand. Nutt felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Roberts looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Nutt can't hide his disappointment, as Roberts celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jeff Roberts!
