Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ricky Steamboat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo Guerrro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerrro feints and as Steamboat raises his hands in defense, Guerrro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Guerrro wants to stand but Steamboat is controlling his posture from full guard.
Steamboat wants to control the position but Guerrro says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Steamboat blocking the ground and pound attempt from Guerrro.
Guerrro is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Guerrro decides to stand and escape the position.
Steamboat shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Guerrro counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Guerrro.
Guerrro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Steamboat manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Guerrro has Steamboat in his guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Guerrro has eaten all the pies!
Steamboat changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Guerrro tries to avoid it but Steamboat manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Guerrro to the ground. Guerrro escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Guerrro swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Steamboat is now in Guerrro's guard. A big mistake from Guerrro there, giving up the dominant position!

Eduardo Guerrro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Guerrro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Steamboat stands and throws Guerrro's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Steamboat stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Steamboat doesn't manage to clinch there - Guerrro circles away.

Guerrro has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Steamboat to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Guerrro is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Steamboat pulls down on the head and he's put Guerrro to sleep! This one is all over!
