PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Krum (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juan Koski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Krum kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Explosive by Bond. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Viktor Krum!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 16 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Juan Koski!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Krum lands a nice looking body shot.
Koski jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Krum throws a good cross that connects.

Koski shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Krum wants to get back to full guard but Koski has passed into side control.
Krum manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Krum is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Krum bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Koski's head backwards.


It looks like Juan Koski has been cut.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Krum, as that shot connected.

Koski tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Krum was well out of range. Poor timing from Koski.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Koski postures up and lands a big shot to Krum's brow.
Koski has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Krum wants to sweep here but Koski controlling him for the moment.

That was a close round but I would say that Viktor Krum will probably get the nod.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Koski throws out a leg kick but Krum moves out of range and Koski only half commits.
A little feinted left hand from Krum on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Good leg kick by Koski there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Koski lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Krum takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

And Koski tries to counter it with a takedown but Krum pushes his down on his head and steps out.

Koski avoids the body shot from Krum.
Krum lands a nice shot to the body.

Krum has Koski up against the cage in a clinch.
Koski tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Krum's elbow.
Koski tries to break the clinch but Krum is controlling the position.
Koski has had enough of the clinch but Krum keeps him there for the moment.

Koski has hold of one of Krum's legs. Krum is fighting the takedown attempt but Koski gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The fighters circle momentarily. Krum darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Krum tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Koski was well out of range. Poor timing from Krum.
Krum connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

That was a close second round but I would say that Viktor Krum will probably get the nod.

Krum lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Krum, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
