PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hannes Haades (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiu Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Haades comes to the cage accompanied by Accept - Head Over Heels. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hannes Haades!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jiu Jitsu!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haades throws a lazy right hand but Jitsu sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Hannes Haades seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Haades misses with a combination

and Jitsu counters with a single leg into guard. Haades didn't expect that.
Haades seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Jitsu is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Haades has momentary wrist control but Jitsu slips an elbow through the middle.
Haades bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jitsu's guard.


Jitsu is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Haades has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Jitsu isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Haades stacks Jitsu on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Haades!

Jitsu felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Haades prevents Jitsu from improving his position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jitsu manages to get to full guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Haades is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Jitsu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Haades manages to get himself to full guard.

Jiu Jitsu dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Jitsu decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Haades kicks off Jitsu and gets to his feet.
Jitsu fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Haades avoids it really well and circles away.
Jitsu tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Haades manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Haades misses with a double jab

and Jitsu decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Haades's guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jitsu throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Haades works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Haades passes Jitsu's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Jiu Jitsu has got the better of the ground game so far.
Haades takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Jitsu is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Haades pulls his head out easily.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jitsu manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hannes Haades will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hannes Haades has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jiu Jitsu.

Jitsu is looking for a kimura but Haades is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Jitsu to get the leverage.

Haades manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jitsu manages to get himself to full guard.

Haades stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jitsu swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Jitsu is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Haades is looking to take a break and control but Jitsu is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Haades works to advance to full mount. Jitsu defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

And that's the end of the fight!
Hannes Haades showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Haades has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Hannes Haades spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
