Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between George Bendall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Daren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, George Bendall! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Warren Daren! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daren shoots for a double leg takedown but Bendall sprawls well. He's pushed Daren's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Bendall shoots for a takedown but Daren saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Bendall has a takedown stuffed. Daren lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Bendall looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Daren is fending him off so far but Bendall persists. Nope, Daren circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Bendall. That's going to take a lot out of him. Daren feints and as Bendall raises his hands in defense, Daren changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Daren pushes down on Bendall's leg and manages to get into half guard. Bendall keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Daren is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daren prevents Bendall from improving his position. Daren is trying to work for a kimura but Bendall is defending well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bendall wants to control but Daren is keeping busy and won't allow it. Daren is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bendall defends it well. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Daren is looking to take a break and control but Bendall is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Daren seems to be working for a kimura but Bendall defends the submission attempt. Daren looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Still in half guard, Daren seems content to control. Bendall is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Daren's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Daren's back! Daren is in a bad position with Bendall working for a choke. Daren manages to spin nicely into guard and the danger is over for the moment. Daren trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bendall's guard. Daren trying to control but Bendall is working from the bottom. Daren sitting in guard, not really doing much.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daren trying to control but Bendall is working from the bottom. Bendall looking to hit a scissor sweep but Daren is one step ahead there. Daren is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Daren wants to get up but he can't break Bendall's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Daren trying to control the position from guard on top but Bendall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Bendall pulls Daren in close to prevent any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Daren has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight. The fight moves into the clinch position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Daren blocks an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Warren Daren dominated that round. That's time! Bendall's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Bendall clinches up with Daren and pushes him back against the cage. Daren tries to score a body lock takedown but Bendall shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Daren blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Bendall works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Bendall throws an elbow that misses. Daren uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bendall's guard. Nice move by Daren!
Daren has gone for a leg lock! Bendall slips out almost immediately though and dives into Daren's guard.
Daren working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bendall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bendall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Daren keeping moving, preventing Bendall from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bendall cracks Daren with a solid left hand. Bendall with a nice head shot there. Bendall is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Daren looking for a sweep. Not yet Daren, not yet. We've been hearing that Bendall has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Daren working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bendall. Daren is trying to keep Bendall in close.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bendall accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bendall connects with a couple of short punches. Bendall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bendall controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bendall wanted to stand there but Daren had control of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daren wants to improve his position but instead Bendall has moved into half guard.
Daren looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Bendall stalling away here and it's allowed Daren to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard. Daren working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bendall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bendall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Daren throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bendall is working Daren over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Bendall makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. George Bendall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Daren keeping moving, preventing Bendall from controlling successfully. Daren working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bendall. Bendall working some strikes from top position. Bendall working some strikes from top position. Bendall postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Daren has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bendall can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bendall wants to control from the top but Daren keeps moving. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bendall throws a strike but Daren rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Bendall manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Daren manages to get himself to full guard.
Daren has a closed guard, preventing Bendall from standing up. Bendall wants to control from the top but Daren keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bendall stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Daren has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Bendall manages to get his head free but now Daren has transitioned to an armbar! Bendall grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Daren! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
