Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Low Qui (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kevin Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Low Qui has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Thompson.
Qui on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Qui tries to get out of the position.
Qui wants to get back to his feet but Thompson drags him back down.
Thompson controlling from side mount.
Thompson's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Thompson tries to move into full mount but can't pass Qui's legs.
Thompson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Qui will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Qui stops Thompson from passing to mount.
Thompson has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Thompson moves into full mount! Qui won't be happy about that!

Qui stops Thompson from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Thompson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Qui is now in Thompson's guard. A big mistake from Thompson there, giving up the dominant position!
Thompson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Qui's guard.

Qui wants to stand up but Thompson is controlling him.
Thompson stands and throws Qui's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Qui!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

and Qui counters with a straight right hand.
Qui seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Qui doesn't manage to clinch there - Thompson circles away.
Low Qui is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Thompson counters by clinching up.
Thompson throws a punch but it's blocked by Qui.

Thompson gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Thompson throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Qui tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Thompson is in Qui's guard.
Qui is looking to stand back up but Thompson counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Qui.

Thompson tries to move to mount but Qui blocks the move with his legs.

Thompson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Qui knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The referee asks Thompson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Thompson prefers to stall for the moment though.

Thompson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Qui pushes Thompson off but Thompson dives into side control.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Thompson is on top in guard.

Thompson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Qui's guard.

Thompson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Qui to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Qui shrugs it off.
Thompson moves to the back.

Thompson is cranking Qui's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Qui! He's tightened the choke and Qui is tapping out!
