Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Freitag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angelo Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freitag kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Limp Bizkit - Break stuff. Mendez has chosen Angelito as his entrance music. Angelo Mendez is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freitag lands a jab.

Freitag closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Freitag lands in his opponent's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mendez can do anything to dispel that myth.
Freitag throwing strikes but missing.
Mendez is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mendez has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Vicious Striking. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Let's hope that Mendez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

and Freitag counters with a three punch combo that has Mendez backing up. Mendez nods at Freitag to acknowledge the strikes.

Freitag lands a nice hook to Mendez's body. Mendez takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Mendez connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Freitag momentarily.

It looks like Mike Freitag has been cut.

and Freitag cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mendez finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Freitag throws a right and a left that both miss.
Angelo Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Freitag is rocked!
Freitag looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
OH! Freitag has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Mendez smells blood and charges in for the finish! Mendez unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Freitag sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
