Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brain Smasher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and matt hwhos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). hwhos has chosen Three 6 Mafia - It's A Fight (Best of Rocky 6) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. matt hwhos told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hwhos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smasher circles away.
Smasher blocks a jab.
A punch lands to the side of hwhos 's head but he takes it in his stride.

hwhos is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smasher has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of hwhos's face.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Smasher shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Smasher showed some decent athleticism there.
Smasher thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed hwhos's head.
Smasher is nestled in close to hwhos, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

hwhos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
