Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tatsuya Yoshida! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Kerry Keenan! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Keenan dodges the punch combination from Yoshida.
Nice defenses there by Keenan. Yoshida takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Keenan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Yoshida connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Yoshida throws a combination. Keenan tries to block but a couple of punches get through. Kerry Keenan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Keenan rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Yoshida moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Keenan drops Yoshida with a right and a left! Keenan comes rushing in but Yoshida regains his composure and manages to keep Keenan in guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Keenan preventing the sweep. Keenan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yoshida swivels though and keeps the full guard. Keenan thows a big elbow that misses. Keenan with a flurry of punches that miss. Yoshida had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Keenan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Yoshida Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Keenan's back instead. Yoshida is breathing heavily. Yoshida is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Keenan is defending well though. Yoshida let's go of the attempt for now. Keenan really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Yoshida. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yoshida is hanging on to Keenan's back as he tries to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Keenan is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Keenan wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Yoshida is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Yoshida controlling well, preventing Keenan from escaping the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Keenan tries to escape but he's let his defenses down in doing so and Yoshida has slipped in the rear naked choke! Oh, that's tiiiiiiiiight! Keenan is tapping! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
