The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zharkov throws out a loose jab but Stewart uses good head movement to avoid it.
An attempted straight right counter from Stewart misses the target.
Zharkov throws a looping overhand right but Stewart ducks down to avoid it.
Stewart drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Zharkov not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Zharkov looking to hit a scissor sweep but Stewart is one step ahead there.
Stewart chips away with some ground and pound.
Zharkov controls Stewart momentarily but Stewart frees himself.
Stewart working some strikes from top position.
Stewart distracts Zharkov with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Zharkov wants to sweep but no luck.
Stewart lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Stewart working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Zharkov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stewart doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stewart manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Zharkov is pulling down on Stewart's head to control his posture.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stewart works over Zharkov with some ground and pound from guard.

Stewart looks up at the clock and then as Zharkov takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Stewart smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Stewart scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Zharkov to see if he's OK.
Zharkov is rocked!

Zharkov is still in real trouble! Can Stewart finish him?
Stewart scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Zharkov is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Stewart can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Don Stewart!
