Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shogan Aye (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Constrictor Boa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
23 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shogan Aye! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
20 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, Constrictor Boa! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Thiago Cunha and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boa looking to score a takedown here. Aye is defending well but Boa drives through and ends up in Aye's guard. Boa not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Aye looking to hit a scissor sweep but Boa is one step ahead there. Aye preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Boa has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Boa wants to get up but he can't break Aye's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Boa postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boa trying to stand up but can't free himself from Aye's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Boa distracts Aye with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Aye can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Boa controls the pace.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aye wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Boa is now in half guard. Boa seems to be working for a kimura but Aye defends the submission attempt. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Boa in particular looking to stall. Boa thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Aye's head. Boa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. It looks like Boa is going to stand back up.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Boa gets a takedown into half guard. Well, if Boa is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Aye wants to improve his position but Boa is controlling well.
Boa is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Aye is defending against the submission attempts here by Boa.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aye has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Boa is working away from the top position though. Boa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Aye gets back to full guard.
Boa trying to control but Aye is working from the bottom. Aye is trying to control the position but Boa postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Boa trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Boa trying to control the position from guard on top but Aye is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Aye tries to land a sweep but no joy. Aye working a defensive guard here.
Boa pushes down on Aye's leg and manages to get into half guard. Boa tries to stand and escape but Aye is controlling the position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Aye is pressing down on Boa's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Aye looking for a sweep. Not yet Aye, not yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Constrictor Boa dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Aye lands with a shot to the body. Boa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Boa wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Aye, who protects the arm well. Boa trying to control the position but Aye is working away. Boa controls the position. Boa is looking to take a break and control but Aye is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boa tries to stand but Aye is controlling his head. Aye tries to bench press Boa off him but Boa keeps the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aye takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Aye tries to bench press Boa off him but Boa keeps the position. Constrictor Boa has got the better of the ground game so far. Boa in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Boa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Aye keeps working. Boa working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Aye is trying to get back to half guard. Boa working the head and body with strikes. Aye is looking to reverse the position. Boa has control of an arm but Aye manages to advance to Boa's back! Aye is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Boa knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Boa for a finish. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Aye tries to get the hooks in deep but Boa pushed the leg off. Boa has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boa needs to remain patient if he's going to get out of this sticky situation. Aye is persistently looking for the submission but Boa is defending it well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Aye is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Boa defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Boa is trying to break free.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Aye's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Boa manages to reverse the position and now he's in Aye's guard. Nice work there by Boa.
Boa wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Aye's closed guard. He's half up but Aye has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Aye pivots and extends the arm, Boa falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Aye! Well done that man!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Shogan Aye! After winning the bout, Shogan Aye thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
