Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Leif Randolph (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leif Randolph! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nick Reyes! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Reyes, as that shot connected.
Reyes avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Randolph tries to keep at a distance but Reyes has taken the fight into the clinch. Randolph breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Randolph gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Randolph is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Reyes dives into side control.
Randolph might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. A control attempt from Randolph but he's now mounted! Reyes avoids the attempt from Randolph to control. Reyes is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Randolph has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Randolph!

Randolph is nestled in close to Reyes, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. It looks like Randolph is going to stand back up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Reyes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Randolph haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Randolph connects with a nice short shot to Reyes's temple. Reyes is trying to control but can't.
Reyes is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Randolph is staying active. Reyes tries to get to full guard but Randolph has control of the leg. Randolph is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Randolph wants to stand up but Reyes has a hold of him and won't allow it. Reyes blocking the ground and pound attempt from Randolph. Randolph thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Reyes's head. Reyes tries to get to full guard but Randolph has control of the leg.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Randolph prevents Reyes from standing back up.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Reyes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Randolph did well to prevent Reyes getting side control. Reyes is trying to control. Randolph wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Randolph wants to get back to full guard. Reyes looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

A close round but Nick Reyes will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Reyes turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Reyes manages to end up in side control. Reyes wants to stand but Randolph is controlling his arm. Randolph is trying to get back to half guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reyes advances nicely into full mount. Reyes tries to control but Randolph wriggling away. Reyes takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Reyes working for a guillotine from mount but Randolph is in no mood to give up. Randolph just holding on. Reyes wants to control the pace but Randolph is squirming around nicely. Randolph is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Randolph is trying desperately to improve position. Randolph wants to hold on but Reyes pushes him away.

Reyes clinches up with Randolph and pushes him back against the cage. Reyes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Randolph just stands there and leans against the cage. Reyes goes for a takedown in the clinch but Randolph prevents it.

Randolph tries to land a sweep but no joy. Reyes trying to control the position from guard on top but Randolph is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reyes throwing strikes but missing. The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Reyes dives in and grabs Randolph's left leg, looking for a takedown. Randolph pushes down on Reyes's head and hops out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Randolph gets a double leg takedown into Reyes's guard. Randolph throws an elbow that misses. Reyes uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Randolph's guard. Nice move by Reyes! Reyes pushing down on Randolph's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Randolph is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Randolph manages to get to full guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Reyes shoots for a double leg takedown but Randolph sprawls well. He's pushed Reyes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. A counter left hand to the body from Randolph misses its target. Leif Randolph has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Nick Reyes is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. Randolph tries to sprawl but Reyes drives through with a takedown into half guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Nick Reyes. Well Reyes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
