Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel Cage! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jamie Kent! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Andrew Berry and William Gold.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kent has taken the fight to the clinch.
Cage tries to stall but Kent uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Cage is looking to break free of the clinch but Kent has double underhooks. Cage tries a knee to the head but Kent blocks it.
Cage breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Cage swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kent gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Cage's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Kent moves into the clinch. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Cage being controlled against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Come on Kent - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Cage wants to get back to striking at distance but Kent won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cage manages to break the clinch.
Cage throws a head kick that misses and Kent makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Cage lands a head kick!
Kent lands a nice shot to the body.
A right-left combo lands from Cage. Cage lands with a thumping leg kick.
Kent darts in and clinches Cage up against the cage. Cage's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Cage throws a series of punches but Kent avoids them all with ease. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Kent!
It looks like Daniel Cage has been cut. Cage misses with a head kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Cage. Kent closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Cage tries to circle away but Kent has him pinned against the cage. Cage throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Kent blocks it with crossed arms. Cage wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Cage wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Cage misses with a knee to the head. Kent has Cage pressed against the cage, preventing Cage from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Kent breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Kent lands a left and a right that send Cage crashing to the mat, dazed. Kent thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Cage is rocked! Kent wobbles Cage with a right hand and the left hook that follows puts him on his rear! Kent dives in with a huge flying punch that connects right on the button and puts Cage to sleep! - What a violent and spectacular finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Jamie Kent!
