Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimi Powell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Crushman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powell comes into the arena with 8 Mile blaring out of the sound system. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
14 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimi Powell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Crushman! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Alan Glass and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Crushman throws a body shot but no joy. An inside leg kick from Powell misses. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Crushman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Powell throws a shot to the body.
Powell lands a body shot.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Powell checks a leg kick. Powell takes the fight into the clinch. A short uppercut from Crushman. Crushman has Powell pressed against the cage.
Powell lands with a short head shot on the inside. Crushman lands a hook that snaps the head of Powell backwards. Crushman scores with an uppercut up the middle. Crushman takes a shot to the head. Powell has clasped his hands together around Crushman's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Powell wants to lay and pray for a moment but Crushman keeps working. Powell working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
That's one minute gone in the round. Crushman is looking for a sweep. Crushman sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard. Powell drops an elbow to the side of Crushman's head. Crushman has hold of Powell's hands but Powell slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Powell working the head and body with strikes. Crushman taking some punishment here, with Powell in his half guard. Crushman is trying to control but can't.
Powell thows a huge punch but Crushman dodges it nicely.
Powell scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Crushman looking for submissions off his back. Powell throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Crushman wants to get back to full guard. Crushman trying to control here.
Crushman looking for submissions off his back. Powell is looking to take a break and control but Crushman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Powell is thwarting Crushman's attempts to control the position. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Powell connects with a nice short shot to Crushman's temple.
It looks like Daniel Crushman has been cut. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Crushman is trying to maintain the position but Powell is very close to passing his half guard. Ground and pound from Powell. Powell working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That has opened up Daniel Crushman's cut even more. Crushman actively working from the bottom here. Crushman tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Powell has advanced to mount. Uh oh. Crushman wants to control but Powell is having none of it. Powell working the ground and pound effectively.
Daniel Crushman's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Daniel Crushman's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jimi Powell! A relieved looking Jimi Powell thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
