The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kim lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Kim really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rivera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rivera has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Kim's body.
Kim is trying to get back to his feet but Rivera has full control of the position and if anything, Kim has just worked his way into a worse spot.
Rivera lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Rivera is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Kim up.


It looks like Hyun Suk Kim has been cut.
Rivera has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rivera lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK.
Kim wants to get back to his feet.

Kim fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rivera manages to avoid it.
Rivera is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Kim.
Rivera tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Rivera closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Rivera gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Rivera avoids the head kick by Kim.
Kim pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Kim looks to throw a body kick

and Rivera counters by clinching up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Kim wants to break free but Rivera has control.

Rivera looking for a takedown.
Kim wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Kim is trying to break the clinch but Rivera has him pressed against the cage.

Rivera turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Rivera lands some shots froms side control.
Rivera working the head and body with strikes.

Rivera is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kim has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kim explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kim.
Kim explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Kim lands with a nice body kick.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Rivera crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kim - the referee stops the clock and Rivera gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kim. Rivera manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Kim throws a leg kick which misses Rivera's front leg but catches the back leg as Rivera tries to avoid it.
Hyun Suk Kim seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kim throws a nice head kick!


It looks like Spencer Rivera has been cut.
Hyun Suk Kim is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kim moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Kim lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Kim lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


Rivera is rocked!
Kim throws a powerful right kick. Rivera tried to block low but the kick was high! Rivera was taken right off of his feet! Kim jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!
