PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joe dirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kazuo Haruki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Haruki's choice of entrance music: Battle Without Honor Or Humanity - Tomoyasu Hotei. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joe dirt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kazuo Haruki!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Haruki. dirt shrugs it off though.
dirt is looking to clinch but Haruki is avoiding it.
No luck for dirt with that takedown attempt.

Haruki closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming dirt to the mat! dirt manages to get full guard.
dirt wants to stand and escape but Haruki is having none of it.
Haruki is stalling in the full guard.
Haruki postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Haruki postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
dirt really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Haruki gets to his feet - dirt follows without any prompting.
Haruki takes a swing at dirt's ribcage but misses.

Haruki drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Haruki connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused dirt some visible discomfort.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Haruki decides to take the fight back to the feet.
dirt is breathing heavily.

Haruki forces dirt back against the cage and clinches.

Haruki breaks from the clinch.
Haruki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Haruki gets in close and instigates a clinch.
dirt misses with a knee strike.
dirt takes a shot to the head.
Haruki lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of dirt backwards.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Haruki.

Haruki pulls guard effortlessly.
dirt missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
dirt will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Haruki seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Haruki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in dirt's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Haruki works over dirt with some ground and pound from guard.
Haruki trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
dirt trying to control the position.

dirt has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Haruki can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Haruki is stalling in the full guard.
I looks like Haruki might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Haruki advances to half guard.
Haruki lands strikes from half guard.

Haruki is looking for a kimura but dirt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Haruki to get the leverage.

Haruki stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Haruki decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Haruki stands up out of the half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
dirt darts in trying to clinch

and Haruki counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Haruki.
This has been an exciting period of action!
dirt is trying to control the position from the bottom.
dirt throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
dirt wants to sweep here but Haruki controlling him for the moment.

Haruki gets to his feet - dirt follows without any prompting.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
dirt wants to clinch

and Haruki counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Haruki.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kazuo Haruki dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Haruki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Haruki trying to control but dirt is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Haruki accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Haruki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
dirt looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Haruki puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
dirt trying to hold on to Haruki's head to control him but Haruki postures up.
Haruki lands with a punch from half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
dirt wants to control but Haruki is keeping busy.
dirt is in trouble now - Haruki has advanced to mount!
dirt is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Haruki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
dirt can't escape the position.
dirt is trying to reverse the position but instead Haruki has taken his back - oops!
dirt wants to escape the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Haruki is cranking dirt's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for dirt! He's tightened the choke and dirt is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kazuo Haruki!
