PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Charles DaCoca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Quaid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quaid has chosen Total Recall as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles DaCoca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 40 - 18 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Douglas Quaid!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DaCoca gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Quaid counters with a takedown into side control.
DaCoca manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
DaCoca is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
DaCoca has hold of Quaid's hands but Quaid slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

DaCoca makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
DaCoca misses with a body shot
and Quaid counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Charles DaCoca has been cut.
DaCoca swings for the body but Quaid moves out of range.
DaCoca keeps the fight on the outside.
A quick step to the side and DaCoca tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Quaid uses good head movement to avoid the hook from DaCoca.
DaCoca seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Quaid lands a slapping body shot.
Quaid throws a hook but DaCoca blocks it.
DaCoca scores with a spinning back kick!
DaCoca throws a looping overhand right but Quaid ducks down to avoid it.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from DaCoca.
Quaid takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
DaCoca pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Nice shot by Quaid.
Charles DaCoca is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
DaCoca throws a head kick that misses

and Quaid lands a stunning uppercut that sends DaCoca to the mat!
Quaid is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.


DaCoca is rocked!


Charles DaCoca's cut is getting worse.
Quaid scores with a big shot! DaCoca's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save DaCoca! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Douglas Quaid!
Douglas Quaid decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
In defeat, Charles DaCoca stepped up to the mic, saying 'That was unexpected.. Well done.'.
