Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ron Borsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harold Shermann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shermann comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Nirvana - Dumb kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Harold Shermann is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ron Borsen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Harold Shermann! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Borsen gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Borsen is breathing heavily. Shermann is stalling in the full guard. Shermann throwing strikes from guard but Borsen blocks nicely. Shermann looking to control the position here, rather than advance. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shermann content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shermann looking to pass the guard. Shermann landing with the ground and pound. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Shermann's corner. There ya go! There ya go! We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Shermann has eaten all the pies! Shermann postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Shermann working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Shermann stands up from guard. Let's bang! We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Shermann has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Shermann closes the distance and clinches up with Borsen, looking for a takedown. Shermann pushes Borsen against the cage but Borsen circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Harold Shermann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Shermann fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Borsen sprawls well initially but Shermann persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Shermann slows the pace down in half guard. Borsen is trying to stand up here but Shermann is controlling him well. Borsen on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Shermann working the head and body with strikes. Shermann content to control rather than advance. Borsen trying to hold on to Shermann's head to control him but Shermann postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Shermann connects with a nice short shot to Borsen's temple. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Shermann in particular looking to stall. Borsen trying to control here.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Shermann prevents Borsen from improving his position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Shermann slows the pace down in half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. It looks like Shermann might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Shermann dives in for a single leg takedown but Borsen sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Shermann scores with a jab. Borsen thows a leg kick but Shermann checks it and Shermann counters with a nice double leg into guard. Shermann must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shermann scoring with punches to the head and body. Shermann keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Borsen's head. Shermann postures up in Borsen's guard and throws a big left but Borsen blocks it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Harold Shermann dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Shermann shoots in but no luck this time. Borsen is looking for a counter combo. Shermann changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Borsen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Shermann is looking to take a break and control but Borsen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Shermann has knee on belly and moves into mount. Shermann is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Borsen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Borsen! Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Shermann has a closed guard, preventing Borsen from standing up.
That's one minute gone in the round. Shermann is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Borsen postures up.

Shermann is controlling Borsen's trapped leg to prevent Borsen from advancing to side control. Shermann is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Borsen scores with a couple of nice shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Shermann pushes Borsen off looking to stand but Borsen dives back in and keeps control.
Shermann tries to roll over but Borsen keeps him under control. Borsen not landing any meaningful shots this time. Shermann wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Shermann trying to control but Borsen postures up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Borsen throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Borsen defends it well. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Borsen looking for submissions from an awkward position here. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Ron Borsen will probably get the nod. That's time! Borsen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Not yet Shermann, not yet. Borsen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Borsen works a leg free and moves into half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Borsen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. A swing and a miss from Borsen. Shermann closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Borsen to the mat! Borsen manages to get full guard. Borsen avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Shermann with a flurry of punches that miss. Shermann has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Shermann throws an elbow that misses. Borsen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Shermann's guard. Nice move by Borsen! Shermann is looking to stand up but Borsen isn't so interested in that idea.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Shermann working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Borsen doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Borsen manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Shermann looking to hit a scissor sweep but Borsen is one step ahead there. Shermann striking from his own guard. Shermann seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Borsen trying to control but Shermann is working from the bottom. Borsen wants to stand but Shermann is controlling his posture from full guard.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Shermann shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Borsen is trying to defend but Shermann finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Shermann thows a huge punch but Borsen dodges it nicely.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Harold Shermann. I think Shermann has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
