The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Smith stands up out of the half guard.
SOBO gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Smith counters by clinching up.
Smith pulls guard successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
SOBO trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
SOBO stopping the sweep attempt from Smith.

Smith is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
SOBO trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Smith had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. SOBO is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Smith Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take SOBO's back instead.
Smith knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for SOBO on the ground.
Smith wants to control but SOBO is keeping busy.
I really don't envy SOBO right now.
SOBO rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
SOBO gets back to full guard.
SOBO working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Smith manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

SOBO darts in trying to clinch
and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
SOBO regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Smith.
Smith looking to sit in guard and control but SOBO gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Crack! Smith connects with the perfect overhand right and SOBO falls face first to the canvas. Timbeeeeeeeer! Beautiful knockout for Smith!
