Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Barnett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evander Boston!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Boston shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barnett pinned against the cage. Barnett gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Barnett seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Barnett throws a left and a right that both miss

and Boston counters by clinching up.
Barnett is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Barnett.
Boston working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Boston lands a left hand that snaps the head of Barnett backwards.
Barnett prevents a takedown attempt there.
Barnett working hard to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Boston prevents Barnett from breaking the clinch.
Barnett is looking to break free of the clinch but Boston has double underhooks.
Boston tries to score a body lock takedown but Barnett shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Randy Barnett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Evander Boston.
Boston wants to take the fight to the mat but Barnett manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Barnett has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Boston turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Boston manages to end up in side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boston working the ground and pound but Barnett is defending the strikes.
Barnett is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Boston creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Barnett sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Barnett wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
You can see the frustration on Barnett's face as Boston controls the position.
Boston connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Barnett some visible discomfort.
Boston has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Barnett is pushing Boston's head away, looking to escape. Boston manages to hold on to the position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boston has hold of Barnett's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Barnett tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Boston cranks the arm and Barnett screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Barnett, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Evander Boston!
