The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson closes the distance but Abedi moves to the side
and Abedi counters with a thumping low kick.
Johnson wants to land a leg kick but Abedi is out of range.
Johnson misses with a leg kick
and Abedi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Johnson's guard.
Johnson is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Abedi dives into side control.
Johnson wants to get back to his feet but Abedi drags him back down.
Abedi in side control lands a decent elbow.
Johnson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Abedi sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Johnson is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Abedi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Abedi is staying tight to Johnson's torso, preventing him from escaping.
