Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mitchell Dowson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cameron Whyte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Whyte's choice of entrance music: Caribbean Jamz. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dowson scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Cameron Whyte has been cut.
Dowson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Whyte works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Dowson misses with a looping left.
Dowson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Whyte moves away.
Dowson looks to land a left hand but Whyte moved out of range nicely.
Whyte steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Dowson.
Mitchell Dowson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dowson wants to clinch
and Whyte counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Dowson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Whyte lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Dowson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Dowson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Whyte was well out of range. Poor timing from Dowson.

Dowson cracks a nice hook into Whyte's ribs.
Dowson tries to close the distance and clinch but Whyte swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Dowson lands a big right hand that sends Whyte crashing to the mat! Dowson stays standing though and waves Whyte back to his feet!

Dowson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Whyte moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Whyte wants to counter the offense by Dowson and move into the clinch position.

Dowson scores with a hook to the body. Whyte takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Dowson throws a jab when Whyte was well out of range.

and Dowson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Dowson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Whyte cracks Dowson with a right hand to the side of the head.
Dowson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Whyte counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
A left lands for Dowson.
Dowson fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Whyte manages to avoid it.
Whyte wants to counter with a clinch but Dowson pushes him away.

Dowson lands with a big left! Whyte is wobbled badly! Dowson comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Whyte to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
