Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jerome Le Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gareth McCall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McCall has chosen Bobby Darin - Mack The Knife as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Gareth McCall acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
29 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jerome Le Banner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
27 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gareth McCall! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Micheangelo Fripello and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McCall throws a leg kick that is checked and Banner counters with a single leg into guard. McCall didn't expect that. Banner controlling from the top position. McCall is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Banner is trying is best to control the position here. McCall trying to control from Banner's half guard. Banner has other ideas though and has regained full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McCall sitting in guard, not really doing much. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banner has McCall pulled in close to control his posture.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banner looking for a sweep. Not yet Banner, not yet. Banner pulls McCall in to control the position. Banner keeping moving, preventing McCall from controlling successfully. McCall trying to stand up but can't free himself from Banner's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Banner wants to sweep here but McCall controlling him for the moment. McCall trying to control but Banner is working from the bottom. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Banner tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. McCall has taken the fight to the clinch.
McCall misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Banner misses with a punch on the inside.
Banner has dropped down and is working for a takedown. McCall is trying to keep an underhook but Banner manages to get the takedown into half guard. Banner wants to pass the guard but McCall is defending well. Nice strikes from Banner there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCall is pressing down on Banner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Banner trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. McCall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Banner throws a strike but McCall rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McCall is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. McCall wants to control from the top but Banner keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McCall controls from within his opponent's guard. Banner looking for a sweep. Not yet Banner, not yet. McCall trying to control but Banner is working from the bottom. McCall seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Banner tries to land a sweep but no joy. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jerome Le Banner will probably get the nod. That's time! Back to the action!
McCall fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Banner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath. Banner swats away the attempt to clinch by McCall. A jab from McCall does it's job there. McCall takes a body punch but keeps moving. Banner uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McCall. Banner attempts a counter takedown but McCall avoids it well and moves away. McCall lands with a nice body kick. McCall tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Banner manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Banner comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banner walks into a straight right hand from McCall. Banner throws a body shot but no joy. Banner moves out of range of the body kick from McCall.
Banner half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Banner shoots in for a takedown but McCall shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. McCall throws out a counter right but Banner avoids it with no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banner swings for the body but McCall moves out of range.
A big right from McCall misses. Banner drops down looking for a counter takedown but McCall sprawls and moves away. Banner cracks McCall with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. McCall misses with an uppercut. Banner saw that one coming. Banner misses with a takedown attempt - McCall sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. And an attempted straight right on the counter from McCall! But no joy. Jab, jab by McCall - just one landing. Banner throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. McCall tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Banner is in McCall's guard. McCall lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Jerome Le Banner overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. McCall wants to control from the top but Banner keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Banner seems keen to control McCall's posture. McCall is looking to pass into half guard but Banner pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Banner is in guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Banner advances to half guard. Banner not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Banner working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banner slips a nice elbow through McCall's hands, connecting with McCall's forehead. Ground and pound from Banner. Ground and pound from Banner. Banner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed McCall's head. McCall wants to get back to his feet.
Banner misses with a head shot. McCall uses the momentum to regain guard. McCall trying to keep a closed guard but Banner is proving a slippery customer.
Banner distracts McCall with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Banner wants to control from the top but McCall keeps moving.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Banner connects with a couple of short punches. Banner trying to control the position from guard on top but McCall is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Banner looking to pass the guard. Banner with a flurry of punches that miss. Banner throws a strike but McCall rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. McCall passes into half guard. Banner is controlling McCall's position as best he can from this difficult position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close second round but I would say that Jerome Le Banner will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

McCall tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Banner was well out of range. Poor timing from McCall. McCall keeps the fight on the outside. McCall lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Banner moves in looking to clinch but McCall pushes him off. Banner throws an off balance right hand
and McCall counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Banner looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McCall moves out of range as Banner strikes. McCall throws a head kick that misses. Banner misses the shot to the body. Banner throws a body shot but no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. McCall walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Banner staying out of range there. Banner is looking to work some ground and pound but McCall has wrist control. Banner lands a couple of decent looking shots. Banner lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Banner wants to control from the top but McCall keeps moving. Banner landing with the ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Banner working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Banner in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Banner lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Banner wants to pass the guard but McCall is keeping the position. Banner preventing the sweep. McCall not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Gareth McCall has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Banner tries to free his leg and advance position but McCall is retaining full guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Banner's corner. There ya go! There ya go! McCall keeping moving, preventing Banner from controlling successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Banner throws a big elbow that misses. Banner trying to control but McCall is working from the bottom. Banner works a leg free and moves into half guard. Banner not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Banner is thwarting McCall's attempts to control the position. McCall is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Banner sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. McCall defending well though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. McCall keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Banner not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Banner thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Banner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. McCall is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Banner scores with a couple of nice shots. Banner looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Banner throwing shots but McCall is blocking nicely. Banner slips a nice elbow through McCall's hands, connecting with McCall's forehead. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. McCall tries to get to full guard but Banner has control of the leg. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Banner connects with a nice short shot to McCall's temple.
And that's the end of the fight! Jerome Le Banner showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Banner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
