0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Pop Franson! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Conway tries to keep at a distance but Franson has taken the fight into the clinch. Franson is looking to take this one to the mat. Conway has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Franson is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Conway content to stall in guard here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Franson can do anything to dispel that myth. Franson wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Conway manages to pass to side control.

Conway has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Franson tries to get to full guard but Conway has control of the leg. Conway with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Conway tries to stand but can't do so whilst Franson controls his leg.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Conway gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Jagger Conway has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pop Franson. Conway tries to score a body lock takedown but Franson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Franson prevents a takedown attempt there.

Franson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Conway uses from the top position. Conway sitting in guard, not really doing much. Conway seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Franson for as long as he can get away with.

That was a close round but I would say that Jagger Conway will probably get the nod. That's time! Conway's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Franson wants to clinch but Conway slips to the side and Conway counters with a three punch combo that has Franson backing up. Franson nods at Conway to acknowledge the strikes. Conway stuffs the takedown. Conway scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Conway looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Conway continues to stall. Conway is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Franson can do to turn this around? Conway really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Conway is taking a breather. Franson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Conway takes the fight into the clinch. Franson is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Conway can't fight it off and eventually Franson manages to take the fight to the floor. Conway looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Conway is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Franson frees his head nicely. Oh but Conway has switched to an armbar! Franson is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
