Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anderson Martinez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nathan Allen!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Martinez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Allen pinned against the cage. Allen gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Martinez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Allen should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Allen pushes Martinez up against the cage in a clinch.

Allen decides to pull guard.
Allen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Martinez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Allen has an active guard here but Martinez has managed to pass into half guard.
Allen is looking for a sweep. Martinez is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Martinez is thwarting Allen's attempts to control the position.

Allen is not content to let Martinez control the position.
Martinez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Martinez seems to be looking for submissions.
Martinez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Allen keeps working.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Martinez takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Martinez misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Martinez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Martinez.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martinez is breathing heavily.

Allen is looking to reverse the position.
Allen is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Martinez off and has taken his back!

Allen looking for the choke but no joy.
Martinez looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.
I would not like to be Martinez right now.

Allen has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Allen somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.

Allen looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Martinez is controlling Allen 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
Martinez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Martinez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Martinez gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Martinez is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

With the fighters up against the cage, Martinez throws an elbow but misses.

Allen turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Martinez is not content to let Allen control the position.
Martinez wants to get back to his feet but Allen drags him back down.

Allen goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Martinez rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Allen's guard! Nice work there by Martinez!
Allen utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathan Allen dominated that round.
That's time! Martinez's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Martinez will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Allen with a poor takedown

so Martinez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Allen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Martinez lands a couple of elbows.
Martinez trying to control but Allen is working from the bottom.
Allen looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Martinez puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Martinez perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Martinez wants to stand but Allen has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Allen looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Martinez wants to work for an arm triangle but Allen is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Allen is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Martinez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Martinez's back!
Allen is trying to stick to Martinez's back but Martinez is turning into Allen. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Allen's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Martinez.
Martinez is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Allen is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Allen wants to sweep but no luck.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Allen shoots in and bounces Martinez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Allen won't allow Martinez to get back to his feet.

Martinez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Allen works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Allen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Martinez keeps working.
Martinez tries to roll over but Allen keeps him under control.
Martinez is trying to maintain the position but Allen is very close to passing his half guard.
Allen throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Allen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Martinez.
Martinez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Allen gets the takedown into side control.

That was a close second round but I would say that Anderson Martinez will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Allen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Martinez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Martinez controls Allen momentarily but Allen frees himself.
Martinez looking for a sweep. Not yet Martinez, not yet.
Martinez throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Martinez wants to sweep here but Allen controlling him for the moment.
Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Martinez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A clash of legs there as Allen blocks the low kick.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Allen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Martinez to the mat! Martinez manages to get full guard.
Martinez is trying to keep Allen in close.
Martinez wants to stand and escape but Allen is having none of it.
Martinez striking off his back but it's not causing Allen any problems.
Nathan Allen has got the better of the ground game so far.
Allen wants to control from the top but Martinez keeps moving.
Martinez is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Allen wants to control but Martinez is keeping him busy.

Allen wants to take a breather but Martinez manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Allen.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Martinez is pulling down on Allen's head to control his posture.
Allen must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nathan Allen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Allen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
